Indian Fusion Wedding at the Sheraton Overland Park KS – Meher and Alex

An Indian Fusion Wedding

The traditional baraat may be one of the most fun parts we get to see in Indian weddings. The rythm of the dohl, in this case, played by DJ Apanasangeet (Kiran’s Decorations) is always so catchy you can’t not dance to the beat! We love how Alex and his entire family embraced his and Meher’s Indian fusion wedding!

Getting Ready for the Reception

For those who have never been to an Indian wedding, most Indian (or Indian fusion wedding) couples would change into a separate outfit for their wedding reception. Meher was no exception to this tradition! For the reception, she changed into a beautiful bridal lehenga decorated with rhinestones and intricate weaving. The teardrop motif on her jewelry added a touch of elegance.

Don’t they look Amazing?

Because by this point the couple are already married, it doesn’t make sense to have a second reveal of the bride; that happened when she walked down the aisle, remember? However, it is awesome to still take pictures of the couple by themselves before the grand entrance. I do not believe Meher and Alex have a bad angle!

Cocktail Hour

You never know what you will capture during the cocktail hour. We definitely were able to capture pictures of the lamb chops! Delicious by the way! And we also were able to capture portraits of the family where here we will highlight the bride’s parents and her cousins just looking epic or playing dress-up with a cowboy hat. 😉

The Reception

While the cocktail hour winds down, Sarah gives final instructions to both the wedding professionals and Meher and Alex’s family to ensure they all enter on cue. And then, the moment everyone was waiting for, the grand entrance! Everyone enters, the bride and groom cut the amazing cake by Kc Cake Lady Custom Cakes LLC, and the toasts begin. During dinner, Alex’s friends play the tabla and the violin mesmerizing everyone with their musical talent. Watch their video below and prepare to be blown away with their skills! Josh and I anticipated that the toasts would be both touching and unforgettable so we decided to record that as well (so glad we came prepared!)

The rest of the evening was filled with laughter, dancing, and memories! I am not sure if Josh and I will ever tire of taking such weddings that show SO much unity and love of families and openly share great memories of each other. We are so ever grateful to be part of Meher and Alex’s wedding weekend and cannot wait to see what their union will bring to the world. Watch the speeches, you will know what I mean!
