to hold onto in life
Each couple has a story. Ours started on July 15th 2005 when I realized I wanted to marry her. I was so excited I wanted to tell my best friend, so I turned to Loraine and got down on my knees and told her how I felt. -Josh

Kansas City Temple Wedding-Haley and Nathan
It is 3 pm on temple grounds of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It is a great time for pictures in the summer for a Kansas City Temple wedding! The sun is perfectly positioned in the sky (behind the temple). And it’s low enough that guests are not in the sun as they await the temple exit.
It is always wonderful to be part of a Kansas City temple wedding of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints! Josh and I love to see how newly sealed couples exit the temple with that twinkle in their eyes knowing that they are starting a new life together for all eternity. We love getting to chat with them and learning about their different backgrounds. We live just minutes from the temple and we know its grounds very well. Because there is SO much eye candy at and around the temple, there always seem to be a new location and angle we can take pictures from.
On Haley and Nathan’s Temple wedding day, the flowers beautifully bloom. The bees and butterflies visited flowers decorating the already lovely landscape! I love how Josh is always able to capture the action of these little guys enjoying the temple grounds as we wait for guests to start trickling down for the temple exit. The breathtaking landscaping is always so inspiring! I love how each bush and floral arrangement adds such a beautiful touch to the temple grounds.
As guests start to exit the temple, we knew the couple is not far behind. First, we greet and introduce ourselves to guests and let them know how excited we are for the recently wedded couple then and invite them to mingle until the couple is close to their grand exit. As Haley and Nathan stepped out the doors, I instantly saw jubilee and excitement (both among guests and the couple!) I love seeing tears or joy! So as Nathan’s sister embraced Haley, I knew this picture will be well remembered. But quite honestly, the one that got me the most was the one of his mom hugging him. I myself being a mom of a boy, I know when this day comes for my son, I will be all over the place with emotion.
Gotta love the missionary bear! 🙂
After taking the traditional family portraits and their bridal party pictures in front of and around the temple. I loved the beautiful cathedral length veil Haley chose! It accentuated some fun moments on and around temple grounds. My personal favorite is the one with her and her bridesmaids with her veil overhead.
We then took the couple to a few more spots around the Kansas City Temple and enjoyed framing them in Haley’s veil, taking pictures with their missionary name tags, and then taking pictures in front of the temple.
The joy in their eyes as they look at each other is inspiring and is what Josh and I look forward to in each LDS Temple wedding we get to capture.
