to hold onto in life
Each couple has a story. Ours started on July 15th 2005 when I realized I wanted to marry her. I was so excited I wanted to tell my best friend, so I turned to Loraine and got down on my knees and told her how I felt. -Josh

Embassy Suites Olathe: Getting Ready For an Indian Wedding
Getting ready for an Indian wedding is a process. There is the hair, the makeup, the gifts, the jewelry, the hair pieces, the outfit, and so forth. When I arrive to Priya’s room, she was curled up on a chair writing a note to Ashish inside of the lid of a shoebox for his gift! I love those little details. I can’t believe how Flawless her makeup turned out even to the perfect shade of red lips!
Priya and Ashish’s wedding outfits also matched perfectly! I absolutely love the way Josh set out Ashish’s wedding outfit on the bed. It was a highlight of what he was to wear on the day he gets marry his best friend. I love the orchid details. Were made for the mother of the bride and groom having them juxtaposed with Priya bangles made for a really cute arrangement. And her shoes were completely dashing.
I was glad to see that Sarah snuck in for a few moments to reassure the bride that everything was looking great in preparation for the wedding ceremony and that details are being taken care of.
As Priya was getting her hair piece inserted she took a little bit of time to write a handwritten note to her dad. ❤ it is so adorable to see little details like that on the wedding day!
While Ashish was getting dressed and finalizing his own details Priya was just about doing the same. Now dress and red shortly after the rising of the Sun she is just about ready to see her groom for the first time. But before we go into that I wanted to highlight some pictures we took of her doing her Bridal session. I love the details of her jewelry and dress which truly made her look like a queen and red and gold.
Priya’s Shyamal & Bhumika wedding gown was perfectly framed for an Indian bride! And I absolutely love how the venue to match her perfectly, especially at the wall and the J Bar.
When Ashish and Priya got to see each other for the first time, they were all smiles. I can tell that much anticipation melted away. First we let the bride and groom spend time of just the two of them. Then it was time for the groomsmen and the bridesmaids to see both the bride and the groom for the first time. You could tell that the girls were absolutely amazed with how Priya looked.
As a mother of a boy myself, I love to find moments where the mom gets to spend a little one-on-one with the groom.
Every Hindu bride should have an awesome portrait of her at her all dressed up. ❤
Here are some highlights of how the ceremony setup turned out! The man behind the decorations, Pardeep!
If you’ve never been to an Indian wedding before the ceremony does not just begin at this point. There is a part that is called the baraat. This is when the groom is prepared, blessed, and rides in procession with his family. He rides in on a white horse decorated with flowers and dressed in red and gold. His family will be dancing to the beat of the music. The groom also gets off the horse to dance with his family and friends. This part of the profession it’s so electrifying!
When both families meet each other at the entrance of the convention center that is when the ceremony starts to begin.
